Chiropractic is diverse and offers many different avenues for patient care, NUCCA being one such avenue. NUCCA stands for National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association. This avenue of chiropractic is different from the other chiropractic techniques because it doesn't use any type of cracking, popping, or twisting of the spine. In fact, the technique in NUCCA focuses on using a gentle touch and controlled contact to the upper spine also known as the Atlas. This is an extremely precise technique that is based on physics, algebra, and geometry, offering immediate and long-term post-adjustment results. There is no guesswork in the entire procedure because it is all mathematically calculated before the first correction is made. Although NUCCA focuses on the upper spine, the whole spine and all body systems will experience the effects of this correction. The nerves in our spinal column are sensitive to pressure and stress. When the spine becomes misaligned, it stresses the nerves which compromises their normal functions. When your spine is aligned, your whole body is aligned.
